Westwood Plateau Golf Course Wedding: Jacqueline and Stan

It’s not often that I’m up at 2:30am writing a blog post right after a wedding day. Following the events of today, I wanted to remember as much as possible and recapture the day for Jacqueline and Stan’s Westwood Plateau Golf Course Wedding. The emotions throughout the reception, we’re some of the most emotional ones this year, followed up with some priceless moments throughout the day. If I told you before the day began, that the bride would walk into a brewery in her wedding dress, or that the daughter and father dance ended up in Gangnam Style, or that Stan would have to cartwheel on Jacqueline’s knees and then somehow kiss her, you would’ve thought I was crazy. But knowing Jacqueline and Stan, I should’ve expected nothing less.

Having the chance to work with my friends from Cinematic Wedding Studios, for this wedding was a pleasure as always. Unfortunately, the rain had started to drizzle, as the early morning preparations began. By 7:30 am the household was already buzzing with excitement. Friends, and family were entering the household with greetings and the occasional aunt popping into the room with excitement as Jacqueline finished the final touches of her make up with Tiffany, who was extremely fun to work with throughout the day!

Before I knew it, it was already time for Stan, to receive his bride, but not before some door games. Jacqueline and her bridesmaids, let him off the hook without any eating, but needless to say, they didn’t make it easy for him. Following the tea ceremonies, it was off to the ceremony over at St.Clare. With friends and family from all parts of the world, witnessing their celebration, it was official, Mr. and Mrs. Tsia!

Originally our plan was to head to Mundy Park. Unfortunately, the rain had dampened the trails making it extremely hard to get through. As a result, Jacqueline and Stan who are into their microbreweries decided on their next spot, Parkside Brewery. Not knowing that a lot of their wedding guests were going to be there as well before the reception, the room was electric when they arrived!

Doing our best, to wait out the rain, included a mini-game of shuffleboard, a few beers with friends and of course some portraits in a unique space and environment. Although some people would have the rain dampen their day, Jacqueline and Stan couldn’t have been in better spirits. Not before long, the rain cleared, long enough for us to head over to Rocky Point Park. What would usually be filled with large crowds on the weekend on the pier, was completely empty. A bit of quiet time, a perfect spot to soak everything in before the rest of the festivities for the night.

Rustic Coquitlam Wedding Reception

The reception held at Westwood Plateau was beautifully decorated. Throughout parts of the evening, friends would come up and demonstrate a kiss which Jacqueline and Stan would have to replicate. We’ve all seen the Spider-Man kiss, done at weddings. Have you ever seen the groom, try to cartwheel on the bride’s knees as she’s sitting down and kiss? Neither have I. One of the best kisses I’ve seen. Also props to their friends Krystie and Brennan who’ve clearly practiced this before.

Speeches are the most telling part of the couple. It’s during this time when family and friends, share their stories that reveal the character of the person. Evident in the speeches it’s safe to say Jacqueline is the friend who everyone wants around, fun, outgoing and life of the party. Stan, the one people look up to and a role model to those around him. Following the speeches by the bridal party, each shared their thank you speeches. Not a dry eye in the room. It was an emotional one, with both paying tributes to Stan’s dad who passed away from cancer and thanking individual family members who have been a huge part of their lives.

Post speeches, the first dance and the father and daughter dance, changed the pace of the wedding. Starting off with a formal father-daughter dance, midway through, changed into Gangnam Style that got everyone up and cheering! An incredible way to finish the evening before the dancing and partying began. From laughter, tears, and a wild reception, it’s exactly these moments that make each wedding unique. Congrats to Jacquline and Stan, and can’t wait to see what the future holds for you two!
