It’s been another fantastic year of capturing engagement photos in Vancouver! Before you know it, I’ll be capturing a few of these couple’s weddings in 2020. I say this every year, but I’m so blessed to call this my job. It’s not every day you get to travel for work, see new places, and create images, that will have an impact on people’s lives year later. This year I got to revisit some of my favourite engagement locations in Vancouver, and also headed to some new spots! Below are my favourite engagement photos of 2019.
Belcara Park is one of those places I’ve never visited before! Talk about a hidden gem in your own backyard. With over 1100 hectares of land, I haven’t even gotten a chance to see everything. The part I did get to see for Amy and Adam’s Belcarra Park engagement photos had me blown away.
Othello Tunnels is a bit of a drive. But it’s totally worth it. Just be prepared for about a 15-minute walk from the parking lot to the actual tunnels. One thing to also be mindful of is reception is pretty poor once you get up there, so have your Google maps downloaded on your phone prior. This space has so much to offer! We came during the fall but would love to see how it would look in the summer. I can’t wait for their wedding this upcoming year at Terminal City Club.
If you’ve read my other blog posts, you probably already know how much I love the golden hour. It’s probably something I never stop talking about. There’s nothing I love more than going home, uploading the photos to my laptop and loving the photos from sunsets. Jericho Beach offers some gorgeous sunsets. Check out Anna and Abe’s Jericho Beach engagement session.
Although Steveston is a location I’ve been to before, it was my first time shooting at Garry Point Park a 2 minute drive from the pier! Nancy and Karen brought their dogs along and it made for a super fun session! While you’re here, make sure to grab Pajo’s my favourite fish and chips place!
You thought I forgot about this location? Nope. Still one of my favourite Vancouver engagement spots. This year I got to revisit this spot for Amelia and Darcy’s Lighthouse Park engagement. One of my absolute favourite couples!!
These engagement photos took place right after Gurp proposed to Raj at Whytecliff Park! Such an awesome moment to witness. Read more about their Whytecliff Park proposal here. Of course, right after, we had to make use of the sunset and awesome backdrop. I love capturing proposals. If you’re looking for a Vancouver proposal photographer, don’t hesitate to message me. Shameless self-plug. ; )
Gen and Steve were visiting from Alberta. They wanted a pacific northwest feel and some cherry blossoms. Read more about their English Bay engagement session here.
I’m glad I was able to shoot here once, before the sudden tragic accident that affected the gondolas. It’s expected to be ready in Spring 2020, so I’m super excited to see the new space! Before the accident, I’m glad I was able to help Heather and Randy get some photos of their Sea to Sky engagement.
