I’ve said this many times before, but having the opportunity to witness a couple start a new chapter of their lives is always such a joy. More often than not, it’s weddings where I get to capture such a momentous time. On a Monday, Vancouver fall afternoon, I was able to photograph the moment before the big day even begins. Chad had contacted me about Stanley Park proposal photos about a month before he was going to propose to his girl friend Taylor. These two were college sweethearts of 6 years visiting all the way from Colorado!
It was their first time visiting Canada. Needless to say it was going to be a memorable day for these two. I arrived early on at Prospect Point, to get a feel for the area. Taylor and Chad, were already at Prospect Point enjoying a few drinks on the patio enjoying happy hour. Overlooking North Vancouver, and the Lions Gate bridge made for an awesome view! I quickly met up with Chad in the bathroom, for our first encounter. It’s definitely not the most ideal place, but something to laugh about as we finished planning the last minute details.
I loved their choice of wardrobes. Taylor, obviously didn’t know a photo shoot was about to happen but they complimented each other, and loved the fedora Chad pulled off. The two slowly approached the outlook area at Prospect Point. It’s always filled with nervousness and adrenaline as the moment happens, when the guy places his knee down. As Chad got on one knee, Taylor was in shock. Talking to Taylor afterwards, she said she’s not often surprised, but Chad did an amazing job with the planning! The rose gold ring, was stunning and unique. It couldn’t have been a better setting for such a wonderful moment! As the sun started to set, these two were off to dinner, starting a new chapter in their lives. Another successful Vancouver proposal is in the books! Congrats to these two on your recent engagement and safe travels on the rest of your journey around Canada!
