It’s officially fall! The sunny morning weather, with a slight chill is how my Saturday morning began, for Jared and Mimi’s wedding day. Pulling up to the getting ready location, I notice a Mercedes van on the corner of the driveway. Little did I know the owner of the Mercedes van, also happens to be Tianna’s car, the studio of the make up artist. Mimi was her first very first client, in the new van! The white leather walls, perfect lighting, champagne glasses, makes for an exciting first impression. It’s details like these in weddings, that get me so excited to shoot! Finishing up the last minute touches, the bridesmaids were getting their dresses on. While the dresses looked similar on the front, each bridesmaids dress had a different design on the back ( check out the photos below).
It was finally time for Jared, to receive the bride, however not before some challenges and games that the bridesmaids prepared. Jared and his groomsmen did an excellent job through all the games, with no complaints. Jared’s groomsmen were hilarious throughout the whole day, with a few visiting from Winnipeg. Who knew Winnipeg was so cool? After receiving the bride and a traditional tea ceremony, it was off to Minoru Park for the wedding!
Upon arriving at Minoru Park, Â I met the ring bearer and flower girl who looked adorable in their kimonos as they were both visiting from Japan. That’s two weddings in a row, that I’ve had the chance to shoot kimonos. One thing I love about kimonos are the sophisticated designs on each of them. Following the ceremony, with friends and family visiting from all over the world, we were off to our portrait session at Minoru Park!
It was evident a lot of work was put into the details for the reception. Amy the maid of honour designed the cake, the centre pieces were hand crafted, and the bridesmaids created the flower wall for the photo booth. The rest of the evening couldn’t have been more perfect with a stunning bridal party, great speeches, and a whole lot of dancing! Thank you to Jared and Mimi for allowing me to photograph your wedding! You two were amazing to work with!
