Kate and Brad’s Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront wedding was nothing short of fun and emotional. Walking into the Port of Vancouver Boardroom, Kate and her bridesmaids were getting ready, with the music setting the upbeat mood that would follow for the rest of the day! Just before the final touches, by Genn from Titanium Studios ( hair stylist) and Judy ( make up artist), a knock on the door with a surprise delivery. A gift for Kate.
Carefully opening the box and following the instructions, quietness and suspense for a short moment as Kate’s bridesmaids circled around her, eagerly waiting to find out the contents inside the box. Inside, a beautifully handwritten letter, necklace and a wine tour itinerary created by Brad for their post-wedding. Tissues were quickly brought out. Joy and happiness spread throughout the room as Kate read the letter out loud. Shortly after the gifts, and final preparations, we were all set for the first look.
Unlike a traditional first look, Kate and Brad opted for a first look with a twist. We found a pillar where they were able to exchange a few words before they would see each other for the first time during the ceremony.
Trickling into the Cordova Boardroom for the ceremony, friends and family from all parts of the worlds were getting ready! The music and acoustics set the mood. The ring bearer and flower girls definitely stole the show just before Brad would see her bride for the first time. The vow exchange, and Filipino tradition coin ceremony, wrapped up the ceremony, without a dry eye in the room.
Having rain and clouds for the majority of the morning, we caught a break in the afternoon just in time for some Stanley Park wedding photos. The bridal party extremely photogenic, and fun, making everything go by without a hitch. Making a quick appearance for the Stanley Park wedding photos, was Kate’s absolutely adorable dog, Suki. You may remember her from our Granville Island engagement shoot. Wrapping up, it was time for the reception!
Finishing up the final touches, the Harbourfront Ballroom looking extremely elegant thanks to Ruffled Roses for the decor and beautiful centrepieces. First dance, speeches, Filipino money dance ( which I absolutely love), garter and bouquet toss concluded the evening led by DJ Relik. Leading up from the morning to the evening the joy from the guests to the bride party, made this wedding a memorable one. Thank you Kate and Brad for allowing me to be a part of your day! It was truly a pleasure to be able to capture your day for you.
