Beach Grove Club and Boundary Bay: Brittany and Shaun

Boundary Bay and Beach Grove Club Wedding

I was so glad to hear from Brittany and Shaun just over a year ago when we met over coffee after Lesley and Alex’s wedding where we first met. After hearing about their ideas about an outdoor wedding, I was so happy that they selected me to capture their special day!

With so much time between the portrait session and the ceremony, Brittany and Shaun gave us plenty of time to capture some stunning images for them. Special thanks to Atmoic Hair Salon for making the bridal party look stunning for the photos. It’s a rare occasion when everything runs on time during a wedding day. With the day starting off with an overcast in Tsawwassen, the sun peaked out in time for the first look by Centennial Beach! It was a short walk to a bridge where Shaun was waiting for Brittany for their first look.

Boundary Bay Outdoor Wedding

I loved the locations that these two choose! They were all within 5 minutes apart and each offered completely different looks. With the first look and portraits happening at Centennial Beach which offered a rustic look, we headed to the ” Secret Garden”. The Secret Garden is a community garden started by a local in his very own backyard. The Secret Garden had so many vibrant colours it made for some wonderful images in addition to the portrait session at Centennial Beach!  From the Secret Garden, it was only a short walk away to Boundary Bay, where Brittany and Shaun held their ceremony on the beachside where it was led by the cutest flower girl, and ring bearer. The day couldn’t have turned out any better.

Beach Grove Club Wedding Reception

Over at the reception, at  Beach Grove Club Shaun had friends and family visiting from New Zealand. They had flash mob in store for the whole crowd right after the first dance, where they were going to perform the traditional Haka dance. It was so awesome to see them perform this live and the reactions of the guest not expecting it. A special shoutout goes to Brittany’s brother, Bryce who saved the day by bringing the flowers from the house to Centennial Beach for the portrait session, as we left it behind. In addition, Bryce brought out his superb DJ’ing skills throughout the night. Thanks for having me out Brittany and Shaun to capture your special day! Congrats to the two of you!
