Nicole and Challen picked The Loft at Earls in Yaletown for the modern vibes, brick walls, and most importantly for the great food, and tasty cocktails! The venue was absolutely perfect. Nicole and Challen did things their way, starting with getting ready separately before doing the final touches at The Loft individually. The natural light ( my favourite for the getting ready portion) at the Loft provided some gorgeous photos of their family and bridal party. Nicole’s DIY game made such a personal touch to their wedding. The beautifully designed invitations, signage, and her macaroon tower filled the space to perfection. It was great working with Nicole as you can tell she is extremely detail-oriented!
Instead of the usual first look, Nicole and Challen opted for something more intimate. In addition to the first look, they shared their personal vows on their rooftop right which made for an emotional moment for the day. I absolutely loved this idea and plan on sharing this with my future couples!
Before heading back to the venue, we got some portraits done at the Olympic Village. Sadly the last few years in August have meant forest fires and smoke that carry over to Vancouver. The haze and smoke oddly created beautiful lighting ( almost a golden hour throughout the whole day).
The ceremony at The Loft at Earls Yaletown brought friends and family for an unforgettable day! It was clear they wanted to spend quality time with their loved ones, and that love was felt throughout the ceremony cocktail hour, and the reception ( especially Grandma who was laughing and even on the dance floor). To finish off the night was a well-choreographed dance that brought everyone to their feet!
