What could possibly make a wedding better? Combining a wedding with a Christmas theme. Katie and I go back almost 20 years when we first met while she was visiting Vancouver, and when she asked me to photograph her wedding I was absolutely thrilled. Little did I know that their Christmas-themed wedding would exceed all expectations despite the downpour and heavy winds that morning. The General’s Residence at Fort Mason was the wedding venue they selected which overlooked the Bay area adding a perfect touch to the day. The entire venue was completely decorated and filled with Christmas trees, with the scent of fresh pine added to what was already a beautiful setup. Talk about the best party favours for guests after the wedding, some who got to take it home!
Katie opted for a few first looks and every single one of them was emotional. From the sister, parents, bridesmaids, and of course, Yuping seeing her for the first time, everyone had a great reaction. The ceremony was so sweet and funny! Instead of the typical flower girls, they had their guy friends as “flower boys,” and it had everyone cracking up. Not to be missed was the emotional vows these two shared.
To finish off the night, the reception was equally touching, with emotional parent dances that reflected the love these two have for their families. And when the dance party kicked off, it became a wild celebration of their love and happiness.
