Portrait Sessions with Rosewood Hotel Georgia Associates

As much as I enjoy  most of my time taking wedding and engagement photos, I often enjoy the change of taking character portraits and head shots. However, when I first started about a year ago, I had a hard time finding models for school projects and models for creative shoots. That’s when, I decided to ask people at work to be my models. A majority of the associates I work with are talented in their own way. Most of them starting out as actors, and actresses. Others, just needed pictures for their own use. Today, I would like to thank those who helped me in my short tenure as a photographer. As you go through each photoshoot starting with my 1st, my devlopment and improvement are apparent.

1st Photoshoot

For my Basic People Photography class at Langara, I was to take a character portrait. I wanted to do something edgy and dark. Our assignment was to use flash ( on camera), as fill light. Chris Beeson was my model for this shoot. I knew he would be a perfect fit. Awesome outfit!

2nd Photoshoot

While working with Ian, we’ve always discussed about doing a photo shoot. Ian would always be doing his movie/ audtion lines at work. We finally got around to doing a photo shoot last year. One of my favourite shoots to date.  The theme of this shoot again was to focus dark and edgy.

Check out his work here:

3rd Photo Shoot

When work is slow, I often like to make rounds to different departments, and say my hi’s. On a slow day, I headed over to concierge desk to go visit Samantha, where I casually brought up of doing a photo shoot. To my surprise, she said “yes”.  One of the focuses, for this shoot, were just simple head shots, and an athletic/ sporty look. Good luck on your competitions Samantha!

4th Photo Shoot

Last but not least, we have Anna. I met her during my time in Reflections last summer. When I found out she was in one of my favourite tv series, I knew she was someone I wanted to work with. We went for a fashion look in this shoot, shot at Lighthouse Park in North Vancouver. Beautiful location if you ever get a chance to go. Delighted with the results from this shoot!
