Rosewood Hotel Georgia Vancouver Proposal

For me, photography is about capturing emotion. Every moment happens in a split second that we often want to relive the moment with friends and family. There’s nothing more exciting than capturing proposals as these events are always gushing with emotion.  I’ve had the opportunity this last year, to capture 3 proposals each unique in it’s own way. It’s always thrilling and exciting for me planning with the guys and listening to their ideas. After countless secret text messages, and planning throughout the day with the guys, the moment is always an adrenaline rush as the guy places his knee on the ground and takes out the ring. On this particular Monday evening, it was no different as it was filled with text messages, collaborative planning, and waiting for the right moment to click my shutter.

My most recent proposal took place this last week at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia where Jake proposed to Emily. We had the luxury of using the Lord Stanley Suite which overlooked the Art Gallery and the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. With the help of the Rosewood staff, and mother nature, the weather held up for this beautiful moment. Emily was led to the Lord Stanley Suite, by JP a friend of Jakes. Candles and rose pedals were placed along the stairwell, leading up to the balcony where Jake was waiting with a bouquet of roses and candles forming the shape of a heart. After a few words, Jake placed his knee down and brought out the ring, with Emily saying yes!
