Sea to Sky Proposal: Austin and Kristin
Wow! Was it ever nice to come back to Sea to Sky! After it’s closure early last year, it’s finally nice to see it open. What a great reason to come back for Austin and Kristin’s proposal. Austin had contacted me a while back. You can tell his attention to detail and the love he has for Kristin, with all the planning he put in. However, not to be outdone for Austin’s birthday, Kristin surprised Austin by inviting his friends from Chicago to celebrate his birthday! If that’s not love, I’m not sure what is!
Sea to Sky has such a special place in my heart. It’s basically on every single one of my lists ( top 15 favourite engagement spots, proposal spots)! Making the drive up, not an ounce of snow on the highway.
Upon arriving, I forgot how fast the weather changes out in Squamish. The snow-covered the mountain tops. I think everyone missed this location. The number of people that were taking engagement photos here on this Sunday afternoon, was more than usual.
Winter Wonderland Proposal
The usual lookout point was covered in thick fog. Snow covering what is usually a clear path to the lookout. Unlike most proposals, I usually have places to hide in preparation for the proposal. However, with everything covered in snow, I was more exposed than usual. Some times you need to improv on the spot. As Austin and Kristin were waiting for some people to clear the lookout, I, unfortunately, had to make some small talk about birds, as to explain why I was carrying two cameras on this snowy afternoon. It made for good laughs after!
After some delay, Austin finally was able to hear the words he’s been waiting for! Kristin said yes! I’m it was one of the best birthdays presents he’s received. A huge burden lifted off his shoulders! HUGE congrats to these two!
