Sea to Sky Gondola Proposal: John and Emily

Making the drive up to the Sea to Sky Gondola, for the second time in the past two weeks, does not get boring. The scenic drive reminds me of how lucky we are to have such stunning views a short drive away. On this Sunday afternoon, the views were much clearer than the last time. Looking up north, the snow capped mountains, and crystal clear water on the Howe Sound Inlet were all visible, a perfect backdrop for John and Emily’s Sea to Sky Gondola proposal.

John and Emily were visiting from Seattle for the day. After their Homer Street Cafe brunch they had arrived at Sea to Sky, however not before John snuck away to go over the logistics with me about the proposal. Early on before they had arrived, I had found a few locations. Reviewing the logistics on the bathroom counter was not ideal, but is definitely the best spot to talk. Discussing the last minute details we we’re all set to go.

Half the fun of being a Vancouver proposal photographer, is the reconnaissance and communicating throughout the whole process. Unfortunately due to the weekend, the two locations we had originally scouted we’re too busy with tourists. As we patiently waited and exchanged texts to wait for the right moment, the rain had started to come down.

Patiently waiting, we go to a back up plan. Olesen Falls Viewpoint, is the next spot we go to. Still equally stunning, overlooking the Howe Sound Inlet, the moment is theirs. With nobody for the brief moment, John says a few words, before getting on his knee. The moment is perfect. The smile on Emily’s face is priceless. Another successful Sea to Sky Gondola proposal is in the books.

Spending the next 45 minutes with John and Emily, you’re reminded of what love looks like. Their story of how they met, is something movies could be made of. As these two head to Italy soon, I wish them the very best. Come back and visit Vancouver soon and create many more memories!
