Heritage Hall Wedding: Rebecca and Nick

Heritage Hall Wedding: Rebecca and Nick

Siting through our consultation almost a year ago, it didn’t take long to recognize that both Rebecca and Nick are the type of people I love working with. Easy going, quirky, complete goofiness, and constant smiles are the best ways to describe these two. Their Whytecliff Park engagement session is a perfect example of that. For their Heritage Hall wedding in Vancouver, things were running a tad late to start the day. However, with that said, these two stayed calm and just laughed with friends and family and embraced the day not sweating the small things. A reflection of their personality.

Transitioning from laughter, emotions quickly took place for the first look with Olympic Village as our backdrop. As these two saw each other for the first time, tears quickly trickled down Rebecca’s face. Soaking everything in, these two took a deep breath as their big day approached. With the hour to themselves, we explored the surrounding area for their portrait session. Moving from one spot to another, these two were always entertaining. Whether it be dancing by themselves while I changed lenses, or making silly faces at each other, these two just know how to have a great time! Following their portraits, friends and family trickled into Olympic Village before heading to the Heritage Hall, where it was time to freshen up before tying the knot.

Elegant Reception in the heart of Vancouver

The Heritage Hall is absolutely a stunning spot and one of my favourite Vancouver wedding venues. A historic and elegant location in the centre of Vancouver. Creating the perfect setting for the ceremony and reception were the long white pillars with string lights, stained glass chandeliers, and the open windows giving it just the perfect light. Providing the well-spoken words, Verna, officially pronounced these two as Mr. and Mrs. Johnstone, following the brief ceremony. Phew. Finally, a chance for these two to breathe before the rest of the evening of festivities!

With only a few tables for seating, the rest of the venue was set up as a standing room with passed canapes by Whiskey6. Superb flavours in their dishes! In between mingling with all their guests, speeches, first dances, bouquet toss and garter toss all took place making the rest of the night a lively night of entertainment. The most notable part of the evening, that I loved capturing had to be the smiles of the parents for the first dance. Among other things, seeing Rebecca’s 90-year-old granma hitting the dance floor! Congrats to these two and thank you for having capture these moments with your friends and family. Wishing you a great honeymoon and a happy marriage!! For those planning a 2020 wedding and looking for Vancouver wedding photography, I would love to capture your day!
